Wallowa Memorial Hospital Launches New Sleep Disorders Testing Program

Wallowa Memorial Hospital’s local and surrounding area residents can now find help in getting a restful, restorative night’s sleep, and getting convenient diagnosis and treatment for the most common sleep disorder: Obstructive Sleep Apnea. We are now accepting patients in the new Sleep Disorders Testing Program at Wallowa Memorial Hospital. Our vision and commitment to offering premier healthcare to the community is demonstrated by our offering this new Sleep Disorders Testing Program.

The field of sleep disorders medicine has grown considerably in the past several years. Recent Studies show that 62% of Americans who experience difficulty in sleeping are concerned about it. One in four of these individuals may have a form of sleep disorder related to Obstructive Sleep Apnea (difficulty breathing and loud snoring during sleep). We have responded to this growing concern by contracting with Premier Sleep Professionals and Dr. Kishore Pathial, MD to help develop our new Sleep Disorders Program at Wallowa Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Kishore Pathial, MD, a Board certified Sleep, Pulmonary, and Critical Care specialist whose practice includes Pulmonary and Sleep Disorder Medicine in McMinnville, Oregon, is interpreting all our sleep studies and will work closely with our local physicians. Dr. Pathial has 16+ years of experience in Sleep Disorders Medicine.

Wallowa Memorial Hospital’s Sleep Disorders Program provides a comfortable and quiet environment for patients being referred to our facility by area physicians for their sleep studies. Our sleep bedroom has cable TV and a DVR for our patients’ use. Our sleep technologist is knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful and will explain the process and what you can expect. We are prepared to provide optimum care to ensure a quality test. Patients can feel confident that there will be someone available to provide assistance and calm any uneasiness during sleep disorders testing. Sleep studies are usually covered by most insurance plans.
