Dr. Chad Burgoyne

Wallowa Memorial Hospital welcomes Chad Burgoyne, MD, Orthopedic Surgeon to its sports medicine program.

Dr. Burgoyne comes from Charleston, SC as a practicing Orthopedic Surgeon, with a Sports Medicine Fellowship from West Coast Sports Medicine in California. He specializes in the following areas:

Dr. Burgoyne graduated Cum Laude from the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed both his surgical internship and residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, NY. After completing his two year Fellowship in Sports Medicine at West Coast Sports Medicine Foundation in Manhattan Beach, California, Dr. Burgoyne became a sports medicine consultant working with extreme sports athletes, both as an event physician for the WMI Corporation out of Denver, CO; and a course physician for the Union Cycliste International which is the world governing body for sports cycling.

Dr. Burgoyne will see patients on Tuesday mornings at Wallowa Memorial Hospital and will perform surgeries at Wallowa Memorial on Tuesday afternoons. He will work closely with the Physical Therapy Team at Wallowa Memorial to ensure the patients get all around premier care. Dr. Burgoyne, who now lives live in La Grande, is also on the staff at Grande Ronde Hospital. He succeeds Dr. Brad Stephens as orthopedic surgeon at WMH.

Dr. Stephens retired as surgeon this summer but continues to see patients one day of week and continues his free student athletics clinic Wednesday from 7:30 to 8:00 a.m. Dr. Stephens and his wife Anne plan to continue to live in Wallowa County.

“He’s an excellent surgeon,” said Dr. Stephens of Dr. Burgoyne. “I have worked with him in the operating room, and we’re really lucky to have him.”
